If children run regularly, the main focus when choosing shoes is on the fit. Length, width and last shape are the criteria that need to be taken into account: 1.5 cm is added to the length. The heel and instep must be tightly enclosed and a straight or curved last shape should be chosen to suit the foot. Otherwise there is a risk of painful foot deformities that cannot be corrected later. Children's feet are soft, malleable and relatively insensitive to pain. Children cannot give reliable information about whether a shoe really fits when trying it on. Pressing the toe of the shoe with the thumb also fails with children. They pull their toes in like a reflex, giving the false impression that the shoe is long enough. Specialist stores offer a range of high-quality children's sports shoes. Competent specialist advice will ensure that your child wears the right sports shoe in the future. Old shoes speak volumes. So bring your children's worn sports shoes with you when buying new shoes.
